SUNFLOWER GROWING COMPETITION! PICK UP YOUR FREE SEED, MAY 21, 2016:
The Year Round PG Farmers’ Market is running a Sunflower Growing Competition, encouraging kids to learn how to grow their own! Pick up a free package of Sunflower Seeds at the Year Round PG Farmers’ Market this Saturday, May 21st, and plant them at home. One seed per pot, and the rest is up to you! Prizes will be awarded in the fall for the largest head, and the best photo (#SunflowerPGFMA).

Saturday, March 19, kids are invited to take part in coloring Easter themes and enter their names for a prize to be drawn the following Saturday, March 26.
On Saturday, March 26, there will be an Easter Sticker Hunt where the Market will provide children with an egg pattern for kids to collect stickers and enter the completed egg in a draw of the same day. Also on Saturday, March 26, the Easter Bunny will make a live appearance at the Market - don’t miss it!

The Prince George Farmers' Market Association invites its members to its Annual General Meeting at the College of New Caledonia. The meeting starts at 3:00pm in room 1-308 A and B. Members are encouraged to participate actively in the Market and join a committee such as Governance, Vendor approval, Promotions advertising & marketing, Special events and Building maintenance. THE POTATO GROWING CONTEST FOR KIDS IS BACK!
Where does everyday food come from? How is food grown and what is involved? How long does it take to grow food? How do we know when to plant and when to harvest? Growing a humble potato helps kids to relate to those questions and teaches them in a fun way that there is more to food than picking it up at the grocery store. With this in mind, the Prince George Farmers’ Market on 6th Avenue announces its popular annual
Potato growing Contest for kids age 12 and under
Parents and kids come to the Market on Saturday, May 23 & 30, and pick up a free seed potato along with the contest rules and growing instructions. The children grow their potatoes in a bucket from a seed potato supplied by longtime Farmers’ Market vendor John Ryser and return the bucket to the Market on Saturday, September 19, for judging.
Prizes will be awarded for:
• the most numerous potatoes grown from one seed
• the heaviest total yield
• and the heaviest single potato!
SATURDAY, APRIL 4, 2015, EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA:
In addition to the kids' colouring contest visitors may pick up an entry form at the door, visit vendors with an egg symbol at their booth to have the form stamped and return it to the draw box for a chance to win an Easter Basket. The draw for the Easter baskets is at 02:00pm, April 4.
SATURDAYS, MARCH 28 AND APRIL 4, 2015, KIDS' EASTER COLOURING CONTEST:
Kids may pick up a picture at the Market, colour it and enter it with their name for a draw for an Easter Basket.
